About Wines and Steins Established in 1979, Wines and Steins is an organization to educate and support home wine and beer makers. The club hosts guest speakers who share their knowledge of viticulture, enology and brew mastery with the members. The club also provides pruning, shoot thinning, and vineyard equipment operation seminars. Wines and Steins also currently maintains the wine grapes located at the Paso Robles Event Center as a training and education site for the public.
As part of its educational focus, Wines and Steins is committed to helping the youth of San Luis Obispo County who want to become a part of the next generation of the wine industry. In the 2025-2026 school year, Wines and Steins will be awarding a scholarship to a graduating SLO County high school student pursuing a degree in Enology or Viticulture. This year’s award will be $3,000.
